Spent today coming up with concepts aimed at editorial illustration. This one i based on the recent issues concerning Peter Garrett.

Mountain cliff base

A WIP i'm doing at the moment. Doing this baby in pencil. I've started it on really dodgy paper, so i'm kind of angry at myself :). Referenced an old 1860s photograph for the dude.

Science fiction magazine cover

I've been going through some of my old Uni work from last year. I chose one of my best concepts and decided to re-touch it a little with techniques and skills i've learnt since completing it back in April. I adjusted the colours and contrasts, brought the character closer to the foreground and i added some more interesting texture.
Once i did this, i decided that i should turn it into a cover illustration for a science fiction space opera magazines. The design was inspired by old 1950's science fiction magazines.
